There is an amazing exhibit at the deYoung museum right now. The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. If you haven’t seen it yet, put it on your list of things to do this summer. It will be at the museum until August 19th. It’s a crazy exhibit of Gaultier’s provocative and beautiful haute couture from the mid-70’s until 2010.
I have the privilege of being a member of one of the flower committees at the deYoung. Check out these photos of what we did in tribute to the Gaultier exhibit this month. From Gaultier’s iconic blue and white striped shirt to the recurring cone bra theme seen so often in his design.
This is an exhibit not to be missed!
Recently I was in New York to take a floral photography class with Cal Crary of Flower School New York.
Flower School New York is a charming little school located in Mid-town Manahttan. I have been fortunate to take many classes there over the last few years with some of New York’s premier florists.
As you can see, I still have much to learn about photography but hopefully you will see improvement as these blog posts go forward.
There’s still space in our Luscious Succulents class, Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 am. This is our last class before summer. Come join us use these interesting plants to add subtle color and texture to an ordinary arrangement making it extraordinary. After your flowers have faded away you can replant it in a container or even your garden.
